See the match a first-person demo can’t show you

Counter-Strike’s built-in demo viewer puts you behind one player at a time, needs the full demo downloaded and CS2 running, and hides everything happening off-camera. Suspect.gg’s 2D replay reconstructs the whole match from the same demo and shows it from above — all ten players on the radar at once, so rotations, trades, timings and utility coverage are obvious at a glance. It opens in your browser in about a second, because it’s the demo’s own position data (roughly half a megabyte a match), not a rendered video.

What you can see

POSITIONS

Every position, 8× a second

All ten players tracked across the whole match and interpolated to a smooth 60fps — scrub any moment and see exactly who was where.

VIEW

Where everyone was looking

A wedge shows each player’s view direction, read straight from the demo’s yaw. An honest look-direction — not a claimed field-of-view.

UTILITY

The util, drawn true

Smokes, molotovs, flashes, HE and decoys appear where they were actually thrown and clear when they really expired — an 18-second smoke lasts 18 seconds, not the whole round.

KILLS & BOMB

Kills and the bomb

Every kill is marked where it happened, headshots called out, and the C4 sits at the real plant location through plant, defuse and detonation.

ROUNDS

Jump to any round

A round timeline lets you skip straight to the round you care about, with buy time and live play on the clock so the action starts right away.

FOCUS

Follow anyone

Click a player’s name to spotlight them — the rest dim, so you can read one player’s whole round without losing the picture.

How to open a 2D replay of any match

1

Add a match

Paste the match’s CS2 share-code or upload a .dem on the analyze page. Connect your own account once and your matches sync in automatically.

2

We parse the demo

We fetch the demo from Valve and analyze every round — no CS2 running, no manual download. Usually done in about a minute.

3

Press “2D replay”

On the match analysis page, hit “2D replay — whole match”. Pick a round, press play, follow anyone.

WHY IT’S FREE — AND HONEST

Most trackers put the 2D replay behind a paywall. We don’t.

The replay isn’t a rendered video — it’s the demo’s own data, about half a megabyte a match. That’s cheap to produce and instant to open, so there’s no reason to gate it. It’s also the same parse that powers our cheat triage, which is why the view wedge is a real look-direction and the util timings are the real ones — no invented cones, no fudged smokes. Positions, kills and grenades are parsed from the demo; radar imagery © Valve.

2D replay — FAQ

What is a CS2 2D replay?

A top-down, map-view playback of a Counter-Strike 2 match reconstructed from the match demo (.dem). Instead of watching from one player’s camera, you see every player’s position on the radar at once, second by second, with their view direction, the grenades they threw, and where each kill happened.

How do I watch a CS2 demo in 2D?

Add the match to Suspect.gg — paste its CS2 share-code or upload the .dem on the analyze page (your own matches sync automatically once you connect your account). When the analysis finishes, open the match and press “2D replay — whole match”. The map view renders in your browser; nothing to install.

Is it free?

Yes. The replay is the demo’s own position data — about half a megabyte per match — not a rendered video, so it’s cheap to produce and free to watch. There’s no paywall, no ads, and fair-use rate limits are the only cap.

How is it different from watching the demo in CS2?

The in-game demo viewer shows one first-person camera at a time and needs the full demo downloaded and CS2 running. The 2D replay shows all ten players at once from above, opens instantly in a browser, and lets you jump straight to any round — so you can see rotations, trades, and utility coverage that a single camera hides.

Does it show where players were looking?

Yes — a wedge on each player shows their view direction, read from the demo’s yaw. We call it a look-direction, not a field-of-view: it’s an honest indicator of where someone was aiming, not a claim about what they could see on screen.

What can I see in the replay?

Every player’s movement at 8 snapshots a second, their view direction, all utility (smoke, molotov, flash, HE, decoy) thrown and cleared at the real times, every kill marked at its spot with headshots called out, the bomb through plant/defuse/explode, and a round timeline with buy and live phases.
